Way to go Jiffy Lube! I had to make one of those trips to FL from VA to pick up a new vehicle, a GMC Acadia Denali. My previous vehicle, a Chevy Traverse LT, was hit and totaled. I was in need to have this vehicle checked out and serviced before making the over 900-mile track back to VA. So, I stopped in Tampa FL, at the Jiffy Lube on East Fowler to have the vehicle serviced and checked out. When I arrived, I was met by the manager Tamiko or “T” as he is called and his mechanic Jamal. I explained the vehicle had just been bought and the drive that was before me. They put me in on bay three and went to work. I have worked on vehicles all my life and have been in the automotive world for over 40 years. So, I am a picky individual and asked if I can go over the vehicle with Jamal? They welcomed me and Jamal went over every inch of the vehicle, from filters, tires, to transmission, brakes and driveline. Jamal was an excellent certified mechanic and had all the specialty tools a guy could want. He found an issue the dealership missed when the previous couple had it serviced. Because I was a car guy, Jamal went over the technology that is packed in the GMC Acadia Denali. Even though this is a low mileage vehicle. I am very familiar with the GM 9 speed transmissions and asked to have it serviced. I have this done around 15-20,000 miles on other 9 speed transmissions and have not had any issues with these transmissions. My last one had over 100,000 miles on them and shifted like new. The dealers want you to change the fluid at around 60,000 miles. That, in my view, is a death sentence and can be prevented with regular service at Jiffy Lube’s like this on East Fowler, Tampa FL. All the technicians at this store were real professionals and exemplify what I want in a service center for my vehicles. I have experienced the same at other Jiffy Lube centers; I have visited around the country. Keep up the great work Jiffy Lube! Thank you! PS: A quick shout out to Tyler, the stores regional manager who was in the store the day I visited. Thank you as well, you have a professionally run store!!
